When you have learned how, you can change guitar strings on your electric, acoustic, bass or classical guitar. When you have changed the strings on the guitar, you will be inspired to play a new tune that perhaps you have never heard before. That is what always happens to me. I seem to be inspired by the new sound I am getting from the guitar. When I change the strings of my guitar, I usually write a new song because of the new sound. There are many different types and brands of strings, I prefer the coated strings, they cost a little more but the sound is unique and non traditional.

My Guitar Won't Stay Tuned - What's Wrong ?
If your having difficulty keeping your guitar tuned, then it could be one of several problems or a combination of all.
1) The first question I always ask is, did you just change your strings? This is usually the main culprit when a guitar will not stay tuned.
Here's a Tip : After you put your new strings on while you are tuning the strings, stretch them. When you get sufficient tension on them grab the string just over the sound hole on an acoustic guitar and pull it away from the guitar. Do this several times on each string. Be careful to not pull so hard that you break the string though.
2) The second question I ask is has there been an extreme temperature change where the guitar is? Did you leave the guitar in the car when the sun was causing the temperature to get a bit heated up in there? Wood expands and contracts with the changes in temperature thus causing your guitar to go out of tune
3) The third question I am careful to ask is, what is your guitar worth. I remember my first electric guitar looked great but the neck of the guitar was made out apparently soft maple. I remember I could just put a little pressure on the neck and the sound would change as I was strumming.
